The 5th Annual Utah DMC Conference takes place on August 23rd at the Megaplex Theatre - Jordan Commons in South Jordan, Utah.

The biggest digital marketing conference in Utah is coming up quick, and your pals here at ThoughtLab have the inside scoop on it. If you’re not in the loop here and just thought to yourself How have I gotten so far out of touch? How does this blog post know more about what’s going on than I do? Let us explain.

What is the Utah DMC?

The Utah Digital Marketing Collective started up in 2011 with the goal of, “providing business owners, marketing professionals, and entrepreneurs with the education and resources they need to get better results from their online marketing efforts.” Every month they bring out top marketing experts to discuss and share their knowledge on topics that marketers deal with on a daily basis. Not only do these provide a great educational experience, but they also serve as an excellent networking opportunity as well (and there’s free food which is always a win in our book)..

So What’s The Deal With This Conference?

Five years ago the Utah DMC put on its first-ever conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. One day packed full of industry leaders giving insightful keynote presentations on marketing trends, cutting edge strategies, and everything in between. A dream come true for any marketing nerd. Yeah, you heard us, nerd.

This year is bigger and better than ever and takes place on August 23rd from 9:00 am - 6:30 pm at the Megaplex Theatre - Jordan Commons in South Jordan, Utah. That’s right, eight and a half hours of pure marketing goodness. You should probably buy a pallet of Redbull from Costco now before they sell out.

Tickets are on sale now for $399 apiece and prices are expected to go up to $449 for all you procrastinators on August 3rd. If you're a member of the DMC (and if you're not you should be) you will also receive $75 off your ticket.

Who’s going to be there?

We think the better question is: who isn’t going to be there? If you want to full rundown of every single guest speaker, you can view the list. These are the 5 speakers that we’re the most pumped to see:

Neil Patel

Co-founder of Crazy Egg, Hello Bar, and KISSmetrics, named one of the top 10 online markets in the world, and dubbed THE top influencer on the web (take that Kardashians). If you’re in marketing and don’t know who Neil Patel is, then you need to get with the times. While the topic of The DMC’s headliner speaker has yet to be announced, we can only imagine it’s going to be good.

Marcus Sheridan

Named as one of the “speakers you don’t want to miss” for 2017, Founder and President of The Sales Lion, and dubbed “web marketing guru” by the New York Times. Marcus will be presenting his thoughts on how to embrace the visual revolution and create a culture of video into your organization. These are some of the key takeaways you can expect:

  • What kind of video content helps move the sales and revenue needle
  • How to integrate video into your sales process
  • How to setup in house media

Scott Paul

As CEO of Wooly and an expert in alpaca farming, Scott knows a thing or two. He will be speaking on why influencer marketing sucks and how to work with them and not pay a dime (his words not ours). These will be the key takeaways from his presentation:

  • How to recruit customer advocates
  • Tips and tricks of free and paid social tools
  • How to start an influencer marketing program

Ian Lurie

Executive Vice President of Clearlink and resident Dungeon Master. You wouldn't think it, but Ian has insight on how Dungeons and Dragons taught him everything he knows about marketing. Listen in and you’ll learn:

  • What a niche really looks like
  • Basic marketing math
  • The importance of return on time invested
  • How to play Dungeons and Dragons..maybe

Dennis Yu

The CEO of BlitzMetrics has some things to say about Facebook - specifically how to “crack the code.” Anyone who has ever had to deal with the ever-changing Facebook Business Manager will definitely want to sit in on this one. He’ll be covering:

  • The 6 phases of cracking the code
  • The “dollar a day” technique
  • Doubling your remarketing conversion

The Takeaway

The Utah DMC Annual Conference is a great way to meet local Utah marketers and learn some valuable skills that you can add to your ever-growing toolbox. Each speaker is notable and has a plethora of information to share. We hope to see you there!
